  • Primary Purpose:

                Develop and improve manufacturing processes focused on improving safety, quality, delivery and cost.   

    Qualifications:

                Education/Certification

                Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering Technology

                Experience:

                5 years previous engineering management experience.

     Major Responsibilities and Duties:

    1. Evaluate and develop manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
    2. Confer with engineering, quality control, manufacturing, and other departments to provide technical support.
    3. Recommend and Incorporate Engineer Design Changes reducing cost and increasing production.
    4. Aggressively investigate and carefully inspect defective or damaged parts to engineering design to determine nature and scope of problem.
    5. Initiate root cause analysis and implement corrective actions, and where applicable, initiate mistake proofing.
    6. Review engineering specifications to maintain knowledge of manufacturing methods, processes and activities.
    7. Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements and equipment layout.
    8. Design both simple and complex tools, gages, and fixtures to support production.
    9. Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
    10. Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
    11. Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
    12. Provide manufacturing engineering information when need arises.
    13. Maintain product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
    14. Keep equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures; requesting special service.
    15. Maintain product and process data base by collecting and entering data.
    16. Complete design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.
    17. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
    18. Contribute to team effort by supporting the project with data, information, drawings and other project related items needed.
    19. Supervise and control maintenance, machine shop, and machine repairs.
    20. Coordinate all machining, manufacturing, and fabrication of equipment, parts, and repair activities.
    21. Develop and train maintenance personnel on PM of equipment and put together PM schedule.
    22. Successfully train maintenance workers in proper operation, set-up and inspection process of high-precision machining operations, usage of tooling and fixtures.
    23. Direct machine tear-down, rebuild, testing, and verifying of operational capabilities up installation.
    24. Provide technical support, engineering assistance, and guidance in manufacturing techniques, equipment design and operation, and the debugging of sophisticated mechanical and electrical and electronic systems.
    25. Prepare capital equipment justifications, evaluations on production, design reviews and studies, cost reduction systems, and technical responsibilities.
    26. Recommend materials, supplies and production machinery for purchase.
    27. Effectively support the production floor as needed.
    28. Write operation sheets, routing, and new product variation requirements.
    29. Apply Six Sigma methodologies where applicable, to solve problems and improve quality output.
    30. Participate in quality and lean manufacturing Kaizen events.
    31. Work directly with the quality department to address, contain, and correct production related problems.
    32. Develop and deliver Production workstations, assembly and test fixtures, tools, and procedures.
      33. Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
    33. Apply statistical methods to evaluate equipment reliability to ensure process control.

    Safety

    1. Strong knowledge of OSHA and other safety considerations
    2. Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations.
    3. Initiate and maintain proper and necessary safety equipment as prescribed by law.
    4. Operate tools, equipment, and machinery according to prescribed safety procedures.
    5. Follow established safety procedures and techniques and perform job duties including lifting, climbing, etc.
    6. Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately.

    1. Testing Station, gas/oil vacuum, computer, forklift, automated power lift stations, box hoist, pallet jack, box knife, assorted hand tools, electrical equipment and tools. Could use scissor lift in duties.

    1. Extensive walking, standing, and/or climbing; heavy lifting and carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Work outside and inside; work around machinery with moving parts; work around moving objects or vehicles; exposure to dampness and humidity; exposure to slippery and uneven surfaces.

  • Primary Purpose:

    The Production Manager is responsible for managing and directing production activities within our manufacturing facility. Coordinates the production of goods, ensures machines are repaired and running smoothly, and manages staff on production lines. Will provide technical and quality support to assure all manufactured products are built in compliance with required codes, specifications and most importantly, customer expectations.

    Major Responsibilities and Duties:

    • Preside over the production of goods.
    • Analyze and reduce costs.
    • Ensure products are created on time.
    • Test machines for disrepair and malfunctions.
    • Set and meet production goals.
    • Hire, train, and supervise workers.
    • Correct problems on production line.
    • Maximize the production process to lower costs.
    • Change production levels and staffing on different product lines to minimize inventory levels.
    • Monitor product standards.

    • Coordinate with different departments in the manufacturing facility.
    • Manage communication lines with managers, suppliers, and procurement departments.
    • Keep abreast of new technology that can be used in the production process.
    • Ensure compliance with workplace safety programs.
    • Cross-train worker teams for maximum production flexibility.

    Qualifications:

    Education/Experience

    Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, engineering, or industrial technology with 10 years of production management experience.        

    Special Knowledge/Skills

    • Proven management experience.
    • Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives.
    • Strong knowledge of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
    • Hands on experience with software and databases.
    • Leadership skills and ability manage staff.
    • Strong decision making and problem solving skills.
    • Excellent communication skills.

  • Primary Purpose:

    Under the direction of the VP of Research and Innovative Product Development, the Mechanical Engineer is responsible for evaluating product design concepts, development of mechanical concepts and generating final mechanical drawings for product tooling and/or manufacture. This position supports the activities of both engineering and some production/manufacturing.

    Essential Duties:

    • Analyze, design, develop, and maintain products; assist in commercialization.
    • Assist in identifying and organizing requirements. Apply usability procedures and principles at project or product-line level or through customer input.
    • Build prototypes, products, and systems for testing; set up and run laboratory simulations.
    • Design testing procedures and coordinate testing. Conduct tests, document results, and develop client presentation.
    • Conduct and/or participate in technical reviews of requirements, specifications, designs, codes, and other artifacts.
    • Evaluate engineering approaches and risks to produce and iterate development plans.
    • Contribute to design standards and support design reuse.
    • Write technical reports, papers, articles, presentations, and patents.
    • Other tasks assigned by upper management.

    Qualifications:

    • Working knowledge of SolidWorks 3D modeling, 2D drafting, FEA structural simulation, and flow simulation.
    • Hands on experience with machining, fabrication, and plastics.
    • Understanding of product development cycle, from concept to market.
    • Strong analytical skills balanced with creativity and innovation.
    • Knowledge in tolerance analysis and fluids dynamics.
    • Strong effective communicator both verbal and written.
    • Ability to work in a fast pace environment of constant change.
    • Self-directed individual who works well within a team environment.
    • 3D Printing familiarity.

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree required; in mechanical engineering or in a similar discipline.
    • Previous experience in the Outdoor Power Equipment or Power Tools industry is highly preferred but not required.

  • Primary Purpose:

    The role of the Industrial Product Designer, under minimal supervision, will combine artistic talent with research on product use, marketing, and materials to create a variety of functional and appealing product designs that enhance and support the value of our brands. Industrial Product Designer is passionate about creating excitement through thoughtful product concepts and improving the consumer experience while using the next generation of power cleaning products

    Essential Duties:

    • Design and develop new products and components.
    • Analyze the requirements, capabilities and performance of new and existing products. Communicate orally and in writing with personnel at all levels regarding the technical details of new and existing products. Such communication may include, but is not limited to: Analysis of products, assemblies and components drawings and sketches that conform to drawing standards.
    • Research potential new product developments, new processes, and/or new sources
    • Design, develop, and lead tests to qualify new products and to support changes to existing products. Lead the activities of a product development team.
    • Use CAD programs to develop concepts and designs. Procure components and services for development of prototype hardware.
    • Assemble and evaluate the performance of prototype hardware.
    • Review and act on supplier non-conformance. Be instrumental in cost avoidance and cost reduction activities.
    • Process customer and in-house engineering sample requests. Assist with the on-going short term reliability test program.
    • Provide the Engineering Manager with the technical information for the monthly Engineering Report.

    Qualifications:
